‘Aftershock’ Documentary Aims to Stop the Black Maternal Health Crisis

Aftershock addresses the maternal health crisis faced by Black women in the United States. The documentary follows the stories of two families: the family of Shamony Gibson, who tragically died 13 days after giving birth to her son and the family of Amber Rose Isaac, who died due to an emergency c-section. The families become acitivists in the maternal health space, fighting for justice through legislation and accountability.
